09/12/2003 Album Tracks and Personal Favorites
The most common mistake radio stations encounter is the heavy focus on the too familiar "single" track. Remember bringing home that LP, CD, cassette, 8-track, reel (or in odd cases, that Public Enemy Zip disk) and enjoying music that you know radio should play? The most common request on The Modern World is the album track that may have had airplay in the 80's on college radio or the last of the hearty FM rock stations. Do you have favorites that you have not heard on the radio? with your favorite "album" tracks.
Album features on the show tend to be tough as I can only find the time to play up to four tracks. If there is a list of those should-have-been-heard favorites rarely heard on the radio, it would include:
This is only a small list of tunes that I would be happy to hear on any "alternative" station. However, a special thank you goes to all the listener-supported, college, and the extreme few commercial stations that would play this music without hesitation.
